America 250 Grants Awarded - March 2026
1) Aberdeen Catholic School System - $2,500 - America’s 250th, A Patriotic Photography Exhibition - Student photography supplies and expenses for creating an exhibit to travel to schools and parishes this year.
2) The Matthews Opera House, Spearfish - $450 - Celebrating America at 250 - rent, decor, patriotic items, advertising, supplies, etc. for multiple patriotic community events including a July 4th parade and historic presentations.
3) Centerville Development Corporation - $2,126.79 - America 250 Public Art Install - A patriotic mural will be professionally printed and installed on a prominent downtown building in time for the 4th of July celebration.
4) McCrossan Boys Ranch - $2,500 - South Dakota's Bicentennial Wagon - Repairs to enable the 1976 replica covered wagon to be pulled by a team of horses in local America 250 parades this coming summer.
5) Sully County Historical Society - $1,000 - Sully County Celebrates America 250 - Red, white, and blue bunting to decorate the Courthouse during the 104th Sully County Fair, August 5th-9th.
6) Murdo Area Chamber of Commerce - $2,500 - “ America 250: A Journey Through Time" - purchase and install patriotic pole banners and a prominent banner across Main St. for the community celebration this summer.
7) Clark County Historical Society - $2,500 - Clark 250th celebration - Create posters and banners from historic photographs; digitize a silent movie and homesteader audio for the July 11 event.
8) St. John the Baptist Pastorate, Sioux Falls - $565 - America’s 250 Potluck - help pay for decorations, game prizes for the children and ice cream for everyone at the community patriotic celebration on July 5, 2026.
9) Brookings Multicultural Center - $2,500 - America 250 Backroads Concert Tour - help offset event production costs, including artist, travel costs, sound, and educational activities at the family-friendly event on June 16, 2026.
